Wildfire Evacuee Update
On July 15, 2017, EMBC requested that Chilliwack open up a triage and holding facility. We opened Chilliwack Secondary School (46363 Yale Rd), which is open from 9am – 7pm daily.
The Chilliwack reception centre provides services under the Emergency Social Services program, which is administered by the provincial government. We are in close contact with EMBC in order to ensure we accurately follow their direction, guidelines and policies. If an evacuee has concerns or questions about the referrals they have received, please return to the centre at Chilliwack Secondary School and our volunteers will be happy to help.

The centre is open daily from 9am – 7pm.
Please bring photo ID, proof of primary residence and documentation (yellow paperwork copies) from any other evacuation centres.
Please go to the registration centre where you registered to receive extensions.
Please bring members of your family to the reception centre listed on the referrals. If that is not possible, please bring ID that shows your fixed address for as many members of your family as possible.
Chilliwack’s reception centre has room for 124 evacuees to sleep if needed.
Everyone that comes to the Chilliwack reception centre will be encouraged to register with the Red Cross and computers have been set up at the school for that purpose.
You can reach the Chilliwack reception centre at 1-604-703-6491 between 9am and 7pm daily.
Although everyone kindly wants to provide donations, at this time donations other than money are not required. Please continue to donate funds to the Red Cross, as this organization will be involved after the evacuees return home and assess their needs.
Due to the overwhelming response from our community, we no longer require any untrained volunteers for our Chilliwack emergency reception centre at Chilliwack Secondary School. We are very grateful for everyone's support and understanding.
If members of the Chilliwack community have lodging/accommodations to share with evacuees, there are two options to utilize:
