Mondays - May 14, June 11, July 9 & August 13, 11:45 am - 12:30 pm. Some of our happiest memories include sharing music with family, most often a parent or grandparent. Make a lasting memory with your child and nurture the natural love of music that is intrinsic in all children. The bond between musical learning and all other forms of learning has been scientifically proven. With this class, children learn through singing, movement, and trying instruments, but also through watching their loved ones take part. This program is for children ages 0 – 5 and is in partnership with the Chilliwack Academy of Music.

Wednesdays, May 16 - June 27, 3 pm - 4 pm. Do you have a reluctant reader who needs some “warm and fuzzy” in their day? Reading to a four-legged buddy can help build confidence and increase self-esteem. Trained therapy dogs are the perfect fit for those needing a friend to read to. This is a free program for ages 6-12. Please contact the Sardis Library to schedule a session.

Free 6-week workshop teaches skills to manage daily challenges of living with chronic pain. Dealing with pain, difficult emotions, how to exercise safely, and goal-setting are some of the topics discussed. All participants receive "Living a Healthy Life with Chronic Pain" at no cost. Persons with pain and caregivers are welcome to attend. Registration is required.

10 am - 3 pm. The fair theme this year will be Knights & Dragons! Yarrow Library staff will be attending Annual Yarrow Days Community Fair. Summer reading club information will be available, prize draws & some fun activities for the kids. Come to the best fair in the Valley and enjoy some medieval adventure as the community celebrates Knights & Dragon’s.

You’re invited to a garden party! Join us for food, entertainment, and family fun. Local nurseries and artisans will also be selling their wares.

It’s the main annual fundraiser for the GVP Society. Proceeds go towards maintaining the grounds, heritage home and allotment gardens.

Our greatly anticipated springtime bike auction is BACK! Preview of the bikes will start at 10:00, with the auction beginning at 11:00. As always, we will have Guywires Mobile Cycle Tech and Garage 529 with us for all your new-to-you bike related items. We will have hot dogs and drinks available for sale, and some additional surprises we'll announce closer to the date. We DO accept cash and credit cards, but unfortunately we cannot accept debit cards. All proceeds will go toward our Preventative and Restorative programs. Did you know that Chilliwack Restorative Justice has the 2nd highest rate of referrals in BC? Come help us so we can continue to serve the needs of those in the eastern Fraser Valley!

1 pm – 4 pm. The goal of this workshop is to help you identify the unique skills and abilities that make you, you. We will help you recognize how those unique skills and abilities can be transferred to the workplace. Topics covered include: discovering and defining 3 types of skills, identifying your basic interests, values and personal skills. This program is in partnership with Chilliwack Community Services and Work BC.

7 pm – 8:30 pm. All "uked" up and no place to jam? All levels of experience are welcome at our fun and relaxed ukulele circle. This program is in partnership with the Chilliwack Academy of Music. Space is limited. Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

2 pm – 3 pm. Join the Friends of the Chilliwack Libraries Society on the first Wednesday of every month. This volunteer organization supports the library through advocacy, fundraising and assistance with various projects and programs. New friends are always welcome!

Seniors’ Resources Society and the Chilliwack Healthier Community’s Healthier Seniors Task Team are pleased to host a Seniors Expo in honour of BC Seniors’ Week Thursday, June 7, 2018 Evergreen Hall 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. This Open House style event will feature workshops, displays and information from organizations and businesses that provide service and support to seniors.

CSCL's Suported Employment Team will share information about how local business's can become an inclusive employer and how we may be able to meet business needs of local employers. Enjoy a Burger' n Brew with the team in a casual atmosphere starting at 5:30 - 7:00 p.m.

We are a not-for-profit providing employment supports for persons with developmental disabilities.

1 pm – 4 pm. The Metis people’s historic role in the fur trade and the expansion of the West helped to shape the Canada we know today. Elders from the Chilliwack Metis Association will be in the library lobby to showcase their rich culture and traditions, a fusion of French, English, Scottish and Indigenous influences. Do you have Metis ancestry? Learn how you can become a member of this active local association and participate in their many activities and events.

Event runs from 9-2. Bake table, white elephant table.

After learning these principles you’ll be equipped to draft your own targeted or master resume and cover letter with confidence. 7:10 pm -8:30 pm. Ukuleles are great for all ages and sizes! Come and learn how to hold, tune and strum. We’ll be playing songs together before you know it! Come as a family and don’t be intimidated-we’re all learning together! If you have a Uke---bring it along! If not, ukes will be available to borrow for your first few visits. Program in partnership with Chilliwack Academy of Music.

The walk will start at 9:30 AM at the former ASU at the corner of Keith Wilson and Korea Road. It will take place along the beautiful Vedder Rotary Trail returning back to the ASU for entertainment, a free pancake breakfast and lots of prizes. We are also be looking for walkers, runners and fundraisers, either as singles or as a team to help raise money for this important cause. Although it's important; this day is not just about raising money, it is about families remembering those lost to the disease, celebrating the survivors and standing with those still fighting.

Our signature event is back! Join us for the 5th annual Wine for Whiskers, Silent and Live Auction Fundraiser on June 18, 2018 at Bravo Restaurant and Lounge in Chilliwack. Compassionate animal lovers can help local sick, injured and abused animals while sampling some of B.C.’s finest wines and enjoying a fabulous feast of food provided by Bravo Restaurant and Lounge. All funds raised at Wine for Whiskers will support the animals in care of the BC SPCA Chilliiwack branch. Your generosity saves lives.

JUNE 21: Show and Tell! Bring a family heirloom, picture, item of family interest and share with the group. You get 5 minutes each to tell your story.

The Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation supports the hospitals in the eastern Fraser Valley, therefore we wanted to give every community we serve the chance to be part of the 3rd Annual Fraser Valley Health Care Foundation Golf Tournament. Since 2016 the Golf Tournament has raise $34,000 towards the greatest equipment needs in our region. This year we are once again at the Chilliwack Golf Club.

You will learn how to prepare and present yourself, and use effective interviewing techniques in your next job interview. Topics include: Interview etiquette, interview preparation, different interview styles, self-awareness, and dealing with tough interview questions, and discovering how questions have changed in today’s market.
