The purpose of the Request for Qualifications (RfQ) is to invite interested parties to submit responses to the City indicating their interest in and providing their qualifications for the partial or complete deconstruction of buildings and structures owned by the City of Chilliwack as the need arises. The projects will range in size and complexity and may consist of residential, commercial and or institutional buildings.
The Responses to this Request for Qualifications will be used to identify a shortlist of up to four (4) qualified Respondents who will be invited to respond to a Request for Proposals as the need for a particular building deconstruction arises. This RfQ provides some general information about the possible types of projects, the requirements for the Responses to this RfQ, and the process to be used to select the shortlisted Respondents.
Those shortlisted through this RfQ process will be invited to participate in competitive procurement processes for building deconstruction projects for a period of three (3) years from the date of being selected. The opportunity to remain on the shortlist will be based on and subject to the City’s review of the contractor’s performance over the prior year. The City will be under no obligation to extend the shortlist period, and in its sole discretion, will have the right to discontinue the process at any time.
This RfQ is subject to the terms of the New West Partnership Trade Agreement (NWPTA) and the Canadian Free Trade Agreement (CFTA).
